I remember when we had the great idea of bringing the kids to the New England Aquarium AND the Boston Museum of Fine Arts on the same day. Great museums, good time, but too much.

Fruitlands, Tower Hill Botanical Garden and the Museum of Russian Icons have combined forces with the same idea – see all three Central Massachusetts museums on the same day. This might be more do-able than what we tried to accomplish with the kids, and you can check all three museums out on their 3 Museums- 1 Great Day site.

Separately, these museums would make great day trips as well. Fruitlands is located in Harvard, MA and we have been several times- it’s a nice, self-paced slice of the past in a very pretty location.

Tower Hill Botanical Garden is located in Boylston, MA. There are a lot of things on their event calendar, and they have a cafe and gift shop.

The Museum of Russian Icons is located in Clinton MA at 203 Union St. From their site:

The Museum facility is now 16,000 square feet and comprises gallery spaces, a research library, archive storage, conservation

studio, conference room and offices, performance facilities accommodating lectures and concerts, catering kitchen, a tea room, terrace, a green roof, mechanical rooms and rest rooms.Three floors are connected by a custom-designed, sweeping metal and glass stairway that allows visual access from virtually any place in the museum. All levels are also connected by an elevator; the building is totally ADA compliant.
